About me
Hi, I’m Nate! My pronouns are they/them/he/him. I have always loved art. I’m very much a person who always has to be doing something. So, since I was young, I have been crafty & creative. My college degree is in Photography/Intermedia. In addition to photography courses, I got to take a lot of different art classes, which have inspired me—sculpture, ceramics, drawing, multi-media. Since graduating, I have been volunteering at Art with a Heart (“AWAH”), an organization that works to “enhance the lives of people in need through visual art.” At AWAH, we use so many different materials, from colored glass to paper towel rolls and everything in between. My current top favorite mediums include watercolor, acrylic paint pouring, and alcohol ink. Some themes you might see throughout my work are animals, birds, and lgbtq+-inspired work. Influences include Chase Gentry, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Andreas Gursky, Morris Louis, Peter Seville (Waste Paintings), along with artists on TikTok. Creativity comes naturally to me, so I don’t really feel pressured to make art. It’s more of something I do to relax. A message I try to convey is that art comes in all different forms. I hope people find my art inspiring or relatable and that it brings people joy.
